What to Eat in Mexico City

The first thing you’ll definitely do once you’ve checked in to your hotel is to eat. So, we’ll help you and make it easier for you to decide where and what to eat.

1. Churros at Churrería El Moro

Address: Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas 42, Centro Histórico, Centro, 06000 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico

Definitely one of the best tasting churros I’ve had so far. You can have the churros covered in sugar either Vanilla or Chocolate. Then, get yourself a chocolate dip. Wahhh perfection!

Since it’s also a good late night dessert, you can have some hot chocolate to match it.

2. Barbacoa at Los Tres Reyes
Address: Pablo Veronés 12, Alfonso XIII, 01460 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico

This is a family business by the Gonzales. Every weekend, they serve more than approximately a hundred pasture-raised lambs. The meat here is sold by the pound.

You’ll love the ambiance here! There’s a band who plays classic Mexican songs adding to the restaurant’s vibe.

Take note: This branch is only open during the weekends from 7:30AM to 5:30PM (or till supply lasts).

3. Tacos al Pastor at Tacotento
Address: Av. Londres 106 – 4, Cuauhtémoc, Juárez, 06600 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico

This is just a 5-minute walk from our hotel but it definitely had great reviews. It’s located at Zona Rosa’s nightlife district so this is not hard to miss.

These three below are the best sellers: Bistek, Pastor and Longganisa (respectively).

4. Pozole

Address: Londres 144, Juárez, 06600, Cuauhtémoc, CDMX, Mexico

We had some Pozole at La Casa de Toño.

We also tried a few more dishes they had. If you’re looking for something affordable and good, this is the restaurant for you!

5. Chicharrónes

This is a common street food in Mexico and it’s bigger than the usual Chicharon we have in the Philippines.

6. Mole sauce

The Mole is a traditional sauce used in Mexican cuisine. This is A MUST TRY when in Mexico!!!

It’s ingredients normally include fruit, chili pepper, nuts, black pepper, cinnamon, cumin and… CHOCOLATE.

7. Tacos

Definitely one of the most famous dishes in Mexico (and all over the world). You can find this anywhere along the streets of the city.
